Birth Story Processing

Share your birth story, and process and integrate your birth experience. Explore the impact of you birth - who you’ve become, what you’ve left behind, and uncover moments of resiliency and strength.

Some people get the opportunity to tell their birth story…but, for a variety of reasons, edit it for their audience (and often, the “listener” will then respond to the story teller through their own bias). Some people never get asked their birth story at all.

This is your opportunity to tell your story to an unbiased listener. Someone who gets it. Someone who won’t project their own experiences onto yours. Someone for whom you don’t have to “sanitize” your story, or accommodate in anyway.

Having the opportunity to tell your birth story in this way can be healing, empowering and help you integrate your birth experience into who you have become as a parent

For folks who have given birth:

Whether you gave birth recently, or if it’s been a while - maybe you’re preparing to give birth again, maybe you’re done with childbearing, but there’s still something to process - I will listen to your full birth story without interruption and then together we will:

  • Explore insights you gained during the birthing process

  • Understand “what just happened to me?”

  • Feel more grounded in your body

  • Discover what you’ve left behind and who you are becoming

  • Grieve any disappointments

  • Brag about how awesome you are

  • Identify moments of resiliency and strength

For those dealing with significant birth trauma, I recommend therapy services, ideally with someone who has a strong background in perinatal mental health. Postpartum Support International is a great place to find resources.
